The Carpathian Map of Adventure

We live in an extraordinary place. The Carpathian mountain range runs across this strategic place in Europe, sparkling with the beauty of its landscape, wealth of nature and picturesque diversity of culture. The Carpathian Map of Adventure was created to make dreams of creative tourism in the Carpathians come true. Already by 2003, the Carpathian Europe Institute Branch, was operating in the Małopolska Culture Centre “SOKÓŁ” in Nowy Sącz, and has embarked on addressing the issue of the symbiosis between tourism and culture, which is a desirable policy, yet, unfortunately, rarely put into practice. Having examined the existing systems for the promotion of tourism

in the region, we reached the conclusion that it was high time we started building the image of our exceptional “Carpathian domain” as a natural and material, as well as spiritual, heritage.
In order to pass on all the facts and legends on the exquisite quality of every nook and cranny in the Carpathians to the remote parts of the globe, it was necessary to reach out for the latest technological advancements and the most readily-available sources of information. This is the underlying principle behind the Carpathian Map of Adventure, a joint project which brought together the Małopolska and Prešov Regions.

This website is the outcome of the project and a rich source of knowledge on various attractions waiting for you in the borderland between the Małopolska and Prešov Regions.
