Vihorlat Museum in Humenne

Vihorlat Museum in Humenne goes back to 1960. Since n1969 the museum has been located in a Renaissance palace from the 17th century.

The museum is a place where you can see valuable historic discoveries (coins, gun, paintings, furniture), and also a sightseeing exposition The World of Animals of Upper Zemplin.

The World of Animals of Upper Zemplin.

Its aim is to present the state of local nature, our natural environment, and most of all, make young people be interested in nature and its protection.

The guests can see here the representatives of fauna from various regions and nature locations. Among the animals there are the esculapian snake, the mantis, the rhinoceros beetle, the hoopoe, the nightjar, the red fox, the spotted nutcracker, the rosalia longicorn, the brown bear and rivers animals - the otter, the white-throated dipper and the kingfisher, which need clean water and untouched environment.
