Since 2000 Presov celebrates its existence organising The Days of Presov. The centre of the Presov land and Saris is perceived to be the Slovakian town of music, but you can find there also representatives of different types of art.
During three days at the beginning of June (3-9 June 2012) on the promenade in the city centre a fair takes place, a show of traditional crafts, an overview of historical fencing and a rich program of accompanying events.
When the city becomes full of art
Each year, on three stages music, singing, dance, spoken words, theatre and plays intertwine. There are several attractions for children, like pony rides or drives in a carriage with horses. There is also a carousel. The diversity of the festival is joined by concerts of popular Slovakian music groups, alternative music, country music, rock music, folklore shows and world-wide stars (Korai Orom).
The city centre becomes alive thanks to street artists, living sculptures, painters, sculptors, dancers, fencers and huge scenographies. Some gastronomy stalls are prepared for the guests. The viewers can learn how to dance in a dance school or play chess on a big chessboard.
The three-days festival offers joy and art for people of every age. Every evening from Monday to Sunday the performance of the star of the day is the climax. Each year the program is different, but the idea is always the same: to celebrate The Days of Presov in such a way that everybody can find something for themselves.
