You don’t need to convince anybody that Kraków is the cultural capital of Poland. But what interesting can other parts of the region offer? Actually a lot, and there is a whole year entertainment.
The trail of holidays and festivals has its roots in the long Malopolska tradition – the festivals in particular, which have made the image of Małopolska region for years. Each of these enterprises gathers an audience even up to 1000 people.
As Kraków chose the artistic events as its promoting tool, it’s high time for the whole region to try to use its success and create the trail of the most important and less famous festivals and holidays organized both in Małopolska’s cities and poviats.
The Małopolska and Slovakia borderline is a perfect place to connect cities by a common idea of tourist trail attracting tourists, for whom the main travelling motive is taking part in cultural events – both those most famous and maybe less popular, but equally interesting and original. The leitmotive of the trail is the bond between people, in which the differences are faded away (not only those connected with age or nationality), and the trail’s slogan are the words: “The community of smile” as the synonym of human reaction caused by artistic experience.
